To me it felt like a General game, only made as slow and tedious as possible on purpose. I only played the vanilla release for the record, tried both jap and kwan campaigns, but didn't get far into either. Also oob covers theaters of war that other games very rarely touch and for that alone is worth it.įinally oob is free and you get with that tutorial mini campaign, that is actually fun to play through and first mission of every single released campaign to date. I also I prefer how the airplane system is handled in oob as it feels better to make sure plane refuels instead of pc2 having a radius plane operates around the base, as that lead to quite a few frustrating moments.

Oob I feel is the best out of all of these games mechanically, and has enough depth with supply etc to feel a slight step up from PC franchise.
That really starts to feel like a puzzle in certain missions and that's a big no for me. Especially whereby increasing difficulty level decreases number of turns you have to fulfill the objectives. PC2 is nice and shiny and is definitely builds on the formula but certain mechanics I'm not a fan of. So from w40k:Armageddon the original pc gold would be the simpler of all of the above games and would really lack depth once you have it all figured out. Never tried pc gold but I have played w40k: Armageddon which is iteration on the formula.
